Book I must have...

Coming out March 14...A Field Guide to Evangelicals and Their Habitat. This guy *knows*. It's gonna be good.

He is also responsible for LarkNews.com, which reads like the Onion's religion pages.

In more serious religious news, today is Imbolc, or Brigid's Day. It is a celebration of female fertility, like I so desperately need that, but it's also about warmth being on its way back. No coincidence, I think, that Groundhog Day corresponds with it.

I so completely lost track of time that my (Christian) sister wished me a joyous Imbolic and I responded with "When?" Ah well. TTG She understands deadlines. ;) The warmth is returning. Hold on to that!

I don't know what you do to celebrate this particular day, but I hope it was a joyous one. I coulda used a day like this when I was trying to have more children! Ah, well...it wasn't to be.

Evangelicals scare me. A lot.

It's Imbolc?!! OMG, I didn't send out any Imbolc cards this year! Is there a War on Imbolc? If not, I say we start one!

The Field Guide web site is great.

I'm gonna have to pick it up.
And hide it when the relatives pop over.

Thanks for your comment about my movie post. And thanks particularly for the link. Now THOSE are the kinds of love stories I'm talking about! I made a similar comment on another blog about my views of Brokeback Mountain, and someone said that it WAS a beautiful love story because it showed the hardships that gay men had to go through to be together...the lying, infidelity etc. The stories you showed me all have obstacles and hardships that the couples had to overcome, but their love ultimately sustained them without the lying and sneaking around. I'd go see a movie about love like that. Such touching, honest stories of love. Thanks again for sharing that link. Just more proof that love comes in all shapes, sizes and genders. Hold onto it when you are blessed enough to find it.
