The State Senate vote didn't happen

Just to update the post I wrote late last night, the State Senate won't be voting on same-sex marriage today. Disappointing, but I can actually be persuaded that the $3 billion budget deficit should take priority. We'll have other opportunities, and not too far away, either.

Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for the vote. I think it's unfair that the rights of anyone have to be put to a vote, but then again that's democracy. I always think about the saying that two things you never want to see made are sausages and laws.
