The instructions for Manwich say to use ground beef or ground turkey, but it's also good with Boca "burger" crumbles.
It's even better if you add in chili powder and that wonderful frozen "seasoning" mix of diced green and red bell peppers, onions, and celery that I must always keep at least one full bag of in my freezer.
L'Ailee asked, "Isn't the idea of that Manwich sauce that everything you need is in the can, except for the meat?"
I smiled, smugly I'm sure, and asked, "Would you like me to try it that way?", just the way my mom did to me years ago when I wondered aloud whether all her "doctoring" was really necessary.
And just like I did years ago, she replied, "I trust your opinion" and scurried off to watch TV. :-)

Oh my God, that could be a scene from my house! Only it would be Fran in the kitchen cooking and doctoring up recipes.
LOL I do a lot of doctoring too.
Jan is more of a plain cook.
A good cook, but I think
she learned a lot about
seasoning from me.
She will pipe in and say,
not so.. LOL
I too have to doctor it up or it just is too bland and boring for me. the frozen veggies you spoke of are fantastic to have on hand--I love them too.
hugs,
Karen
Man oh man, a Manwich sounds good right about now.
I'm off to the grocery store...
Can you get a manwich on Drugstore.com?
Maybe I should try Amazon.
