WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE!

If y'all heard a high-pitched squealing coming from the direction of NYC early this afternoon, it is because...

L'Ailee and I are going to France! This June! For ten days!

Whew! I need to type that again--WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE!!!!

That is where our friends' wedding will be, since that is where the groom comes from. We're going to serve as co-matrons of honor, since we introduced them and all.

And...the bride's parents had an actual bank account set aside for their only little girl's wedding, so our plane tickets will be paid for, too!

L'Ailee came to my work with the most random selection of food for my lunch, since a meeting-with-lunch was cancelled. Her friend, the other savate instructor, had just told her; my friend, my belly-dancing partner, had just e-mailed me. We held each other and jumped like a couple of sorority girls!

We'll be down south, by Toulouse. River surfing and buying lots of perfume are already on the schedule.

Suddenly the bride's desire to put our very different bodies in the same style of dress and her dictates about our hair (like, I need to highlight mine and L'Ailee needs to have some on her head) sound ever so much more reasonable...

Ah France in the Spring. You'll have a wonderful time and I am oh so jealous!

Just a walk through the market, an afternoon coffee at a cafe. The sights and smells and that wonderful language.

C'est fabuleux!

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.... and please, remember to take lots of pictures of both of you in those lovely flared satin bridesmaids dresses... you know the kind with the puffy sleeves and big bows everywhere they have a chance to put them..... Make that bright pink, my dears...
